**Position**:Part-time Custodian**
**Pay**:$20.00-$21.75 per hour plus benefits package; Hours: 18-21 hours per week (with some occasional extra hours) generally Monday to Thursday: 6:00 p.m. -- 10:00 p.m., Sunday 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (with ½ lunch)

**Position Summary**

The Church Custodian has the responsibility for the cleanliness and maintenance of the building and property. This is inclusive of both inside and outside areas. The Part-time Custodian position is a self
- supervising position. The hired individual will take direction for work tasks from the Property Committee
Chair or designate. The Part-time Custodian is part of a supportive team with the Full-time Custodian, working collaboratively to ensure all custodial cleaning and care of the Church building.

**Essential job functions**:

- General cleaning of all assigned areas such as Sanctuary, offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, classrooms, gymnasium, kitchens, entrances, as well as storage areas
- Organize, coordinate, schedule, and execute cleaning tasks for maximum efficiency
- Manage climate control
- Opening and closing of the church building and interior rooms as required, ensuring that the church facilities are properly prepared for the various functions including room set-up and take down
- Report any safety hazards, security issues, or conditions that require the services of tradesmen or contractors
- Monitor, maintain, and complete non-intrusive minor repairs to building heating, ventilation, plumbing, security, and fire alarm systems
- Work jointly and cooperatively with church staff, congregation, and renters
- Seasonal custodial duties such as snow removal and yard/lawn care as needed
- Ensure that adequate inventories of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and lighting are maintained on hand
- General security of the building

**Key Qualifications**:

- Several years’ related experience in a custodial/cleaning operation (preferred); references required
- Ability to execute tasks while working independently, with mínimal supervision
- Basic mechanical skills/knowledge
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job and to lift up to 50lbs
- Good interpersonal and communication skills---ability to work professionally and cooperatively with others
- Strong organizational, time management, and follow through skills
