Our hotel is currently seeking an out of the ordinary individual to join us in the position of **Maintenance Technician Full-Time**.

**Your role**:
We are looking for a qualified and talented individual with customer service experience. The Maintenance Technician maintains the hotel building, including public areas, service areas, hotel rooms, banquet rooms, restaurant, bar, gym, mechanical rooms and rental spaces. The technician also answers and handles all calls with minimum delay, carries out repairs efficiently and professionally as well as to respond to fire alarms and be a member of the first response team.

**Your main responsibilities**:

- Greet all customers according to company standards, and to anticipate and handle customer service needs.
- Answer room calls as efficiently as possible. Handle maintenance requests promptly and with a level of professionalism and politeness recognized in the hospitality industry.
- Make general repairs to rooms, public areas and other facilities to keep them in good condition.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucet cartridges, shower mixers, toilet seats, unclogging drains in baths, sinks and toilets, repair toilets, and replace flushes, shower heads, solder and more. - Basic carpentry and finishing skills, upholstery repairs, plastering and painting.
- Basic electrical skills: replace bulbs, receptacles, switches, lamp sockets and electronic ballast.
- Basic knowledge of room ventilation systems would be an asset: replace valves, thermostats and filters on air conditioners and motors.
- Basic knowledge of the following categories would be an asset: air conditioning and refrigeration, mechanics, electronic systems and controls.
- Have a basic knowledge of the fire panel and follow the procedures established for the facility.
- Follow all company policies and procedures. Report any deficiencies, maintenance problems or unsafe working conditions.
- Develop positive and constructive working relationships with your peers, uniting and supporting each other to achieve common goals. Listen and respond appropriately to the problems of other employees. Use clear and courteous language in all communication.
- Maintain inventories of the various materials required for maintenance.

**Required qualifications**
- Hold a certificate in the technical maintenance trade or have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Availability to work different shifts (day, evening, night, weekends) is essential.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds (22.7 kg) without assistance, as well as heavier objects with assistance.
- Bilingual - oral and written (French and English). Ability to communicate fluently in French and English.

**Salary**: $29.30 per hour
