Rocky Mountain House, Canada Heritage Family Services Full time

Heritage Family Services is actively seeking a **Registered Social Worker with Masters and Clinical Designation **to serve alongside our Program Coordinators as a vital partner, who shares the vision and responsibility of providing therapeutic care to children and adolescents. These children and youth are a part of a sibling group homes in some instances, in addition to adolescents who are living in a residential style program. The Registered Social Worker with Masters and Clinical Designation is a proficient clinician and consultant with the ability to develop and implement care/assessment plans, risk assessments and safety plans for clients in a supportive team environment. **This position is located in Red Deer / Rocky Mountain House, AB.**

**Education & Experience**
- Masters of Social Work Degree from an accredited School of Social Work.
- Current full registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers with authorization to perform Restricted Psychosocial Interventions.
- Community-based experience particularly with families and children in need of additional support.
- Training and experience with counselling individuals, families and groups or an equivalent.
- Specialized training in substance use and addictions would be an asset.
- Leadership experience facilitating change and facilitating professional development with staff.
- Valid Alberta’s Driver’s License. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, loss and grief.
- Comprehensive knowledge of developmental stages of an individual and in the family life cycle.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cultural differences and how these differences impact treatment approaches for children and youth.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging issues of importance to Indigenous people and communities.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with a multidisciplinary team in the development of care plans, emotional and behavioral support, crisis intervention, safety plans and transition plans.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and obtain referral resources throughout the service area.
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with clients and families in order to create a safe and supportive relationship.
- Demonstrated listening and information seeking skills that promote communication and lead to a cooperative approach to problem-solving within an interdisciplinary setting.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, clients and their families, both one-on-one and in groups.
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
- Emotional resilience and stability as the work often involves dealing with crises
- Respond and offer support to team member’s in-person or via phone to prevent and de-escalate crisis situations.
- Responsible for crisis management and safety decision-making while on shift
- Availability to participate in the On-call rotation for crisis support and to provide post-crisis support to direct care staff.
