Specific Skills: Administer Bedside and Personal Care, Aid Client with Bathing and Other Aspects of Personal Hygiene, Prepare Basic Meals, Launder Clothing and Household Linens, Perform Basic Housekeeping and Cleaning, Administer Medication, Assist With Rehab Interventions, Very Occasionally Drive Modified Vehicle, Comfortable with Cats.

Transportation: Own Transportation

Summary:
In need of an extremely reliable, trustworthy, and dependable female Personal Care Attendant to assist an adult male with a high level spinal cord injury (quadriplegia).

You will be assisting the client in his house with evening and morning routines, which consist of dressing, showering, assisting transfers to and from wheelchair via ceiling track lift, bladder and bowel care, light housekeeping, and laundry.

Experience working with individuals with a spinal cord injury certainly is an asset, but not a requirement. This is a really relaxed working environment with wages higher than typical community agencies.

On top of the attendant care, you may also might need to occasionally assist with the care of the client’s 3 year old daughter. Experience working with children is also an asset.

Full training will be provided. There are a variety of shifts available, including weekend and evening/overnight shifts. For overnight shifts, you are not required to stay awake, but to sleep over in a spare bedroom and be on call if something comes up.

This would be a great opportunity for people to gain experience and obtain good references. University or College students in nursing, healthcare, or any other degree are also encouraged to apply.
