QA Technician

Monitor compliance on production floor and implement Food Safety and Quality programs of Freshouse Foods.

Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Responsible for monitoring tasks including CCP monitoring tasks as per the Preventive Controls Program and HACCP Plan as assigned.

Inspection and completion of Pre-operational Inspection and Operational monitoring and record completion in an accurate and timely manner.

Perform CCP monitoring activities and record completion (as assigned)

Perform ATP swabbing, environmental swabbing (swab test), collect RTE product samples and send to the laboratory for testing.

Monitor packaging to ensure correct labelling, date coding, and correct packaging is being followed.

Assist production employees with label printing as necessary

Perform monitoring procedures related to production and quality activities to ensure production procedures are being followed and customer specifications and regulatory requirements are being met.

Check final product specifications; weight, color, visual inside & outside and BBD of RTE and raw finished products.

Ensure that all rework boxes are labelled.

Reports to Management when any deviations/problems are observed (i.e. equipment malfunctioning, equipment not cleaned

Any additional task assigned by superior / reporting head

Represent the company in a professional manner in dealings with government personnel, customers and any all-other visitors to the plant facility.

Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years experience in the food Industry (retail, food service, manufacturing (asset))

Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office - word, excel, PowerPoint working experience)

Related experience in Food Safety or Quality Assurance an asset, preferably a technical role

University/College Degree in Food Production, Science, Nutrition, or other related science is required

Willing to work in a cold, wet and hot environment.

Must be willing to stand, walk, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Must be flexible working in shifts

Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

Meat industry experience will be considered as an asset.
