Actuarial Team Lead, Technical Pricing

As a Team Lead on the Technical Pricing team, you will be developing state-of-art indication models for a $4B Personal Insurance business. You will collaborate with experts in various actuarial domains and challenge status quo to improve the accuracy of indications. As a Team Lead, you provide leadership to other staff, manage your projects, and create brilliant presentations. By finding solutions to challenging problems and presenting to senior management, you will have plentiful opportunities to take your skills to the next level.
What you’ll do- Build best-in-class rate indication models for a $4B Personal Insurance business. Identify emerging trends, research methodologies, and develop solutions for new technical challenges.- Train and coach junior staff on technical aspects of the actuarial models as well as best practices around process management- Prepare and present impactful presentations for senior leaders. Summarize key assumptions and modeling choices in plain language and with effective use of visuals.- Improve tools and process by leveraging new technology and a deep understanding of the actuarial methodology- Effectively manage special projects, overseeing technical design, scope, timelines and communications- Collaborate with Street Pricing, Reserving and Finance to determine shared assumptions and improve the Technical Pricing models.- Be actively involved in the actuarial community at Aviva
What you’ll bring-
- Minimum of 6 CAS exams- Minimum 4 years of P&C work experience- Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and mentor junior actuaries- Curiosity and passion for improving on status quo- Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner- Ability to lead projects and manage timetables and stakeholders- Proficiency in Python and/or SAS. Knowledge of VBA is an asset.
