Financial Controller

Responsibilities:

- Assisting with management reporting and month-end close duties
- Oversee the functions of the Accounts Payable and Receivables
- Manage and maintain the bi-weekly payroll and remit payroll deductions and employer contribution
- Manage benefit packages
- Posting payments and update cost controls
- Subcontractor invoicing and reconciliations and make payments transfer online through EFT or Etransfers
- Cash flow analysis and banking
- Preparing monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations
- Identifying and analyzing customer accounts and related delinquencies
- Prepare monthly closures of accounts
- Providing assistance with external audits including preparing working papers
- Providing guidance and mentoring to junior team members
- Answer queries and complaints from vendors or clients, as required
- Prepare and file HST and Tax Installment as require
- Closing Job files and calculate Project Manager’s commission
- Personnel file maintenance
- Prepare remittances, WSIB, Source deductions and receiver General
- Ensuring compliance and leading efforts to improve efficiencies and processes
- Update training materials and departmental procedures, as needed
- Prepare T4s and Record of employment
- Other duties as assigned

Other
- Oversee the financial operations of the company, including financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making.
- Manage cash flow, monitor expenses, and optimize financial performance.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Utilize accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks to maintain accurate financial records.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and modeling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

**Salary**: $59,310.52-$75,000.00 per year
