**SECURITY SUPERVISOR (Full time - Permanent)**

**SUMMARY**:
Reporting to Director, Community Safety, the Security Supervisor will support maintaining and enhancing the security infrastructure of the campus.

Specifically, the Security Supervisor will be responsible for:

- Supervising daily security team operations, ensuring efficient task completion;
- Devising and enforcing security policies and procedures to safeguard the university and its assets;
- Perform routine security assessments to identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities, crafting strategies for risk reduction;
- Monitoring surveillance and alarm systems, swiftly responding to security breaches or incidents;
- Liaising with law enforcement, emergency services, and relevant stakeholders during security emergencies;
- Educating and training security personnel on protocols and emergency response plans;
- Regularly inspecting security equipment (CCTV, access control, alarms) to ensure proper functioning and upkeep;
- Investigating security incidents, accidents, and breaches, preparing comprehensive reports with improvement recommendations;
- Collaborating across departments to integrate security measures into all operational facets, including events, facility management, and employee safety;
- Staying abreast of evolving security trends, technologies, and regulations, providing recommendations for system and procedural enhancements.

Compensation: $50,000 plus a comprehensive benefit and vacation package.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Location: 1349 Western Rd, London, ON, Canada, N6G 1H3

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completed Diploma or Degree from an accredited post secondary institution
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
- Certification in First Aid with AED and CPR C Level
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a security supervisor role at a post secondary institution
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a security related field
- Experience working in a post secondary or educational setting
- Strong knowledge of key and access card systems, including Salto Systems or similar key and access card systems
- Familiarity with various general and security software, including Jira or similar incident management tools
- Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks / deadlines and accurately complete duties in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in both independent work and collaborative teamwork
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe and secure campus environment
- Demonstrated judgement and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of Huron
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with university staff, faculty, students, and visitors
- Ability to professionally collaborate with other emergency services such as Western Special Constables, London Police, London Fire, etc.
