The primary responsibility of this position will be to support the development and monitoring of the budget, forecasting, costing processes, and business analytics of the organization. There will also be opportunity for cross training and involvement in other functions and processes within the Finance department.
**REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES**
Finance
- Develop strong working relationships with Operations and Corporate Accounting teams in order to facilitate timely, accurate, and relevant project cost and operations performance reporting.
- Review operating costs to identify & develop solutions, create efficiencies. Develop and refine forecasting tools and requirements; prepare annual budgets; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions. Review of findings and recommendations with Controller for implementation.
- Complete various processes required for completion of division accounting, including but not limited to: intercompany transactions, project cost allocations, cost accruals, holdback monitoring, review of work-in-progress activity, joint venture reporting, and transaction closing.
- Upload of project/operational budgets into accounting system and prepare variance analysis of actual to budget results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Identify and develop procedures to create efficiencies, through automation of processes, and ensure appropriate transition plan and training are in place, in the completion of the operational accounting reporting.
- Preparation and maintenance of asset continuities, debt payment schedules, and commitments.
- Monthly review, reconciliation, and assessment of divisional operating statements including balance sheet, cash flows, and relevant performance metrics.
- Preparation / review of:

- All journal entries and working papers associated with month end, quarter end and year end processes.
- Monthly divisional reporting packages for presentation to the Controller.
- Assist with the preparation, presentation, and ongoing management of divisional project’s budgets, proformas, and cash flows as required.
- Act as a key liaison between Accounting, Operations, Management and Corporate to ensure all reporting requirements are met, results are communicated, and useful / relevant analysis and recommendations are prepared to help improve the operating efficiency.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
- Accounting designation is preferred (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA)
- Good working knowledge of US Tax regulations would be an asset.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Operational familiarity within joint venture and limited partnership structures is considered an asset.
- Ability to think logically and complete detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to details.
- Experience in ERP Implementations and/or understanding of programming languages is an asset.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
