Development Permitting Assistant

**This posting is for 1 hourly full-time summer position (May - August)**

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide assistance to applicants, developers, and the public
- Research and review of planning documents during the preparation of statements of compliance
- Work with a team to improve efficiency and service delivery, with a focus on researching and identifying improvements to forms, procedures, internal and external communications

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Enrollment in or completion of a Planning or Land Development related program; 2nd or 3rd year enrollment preferred
- Knowledge of the Municipal Government Act, Municipal Development Plan and Strathcona County Land Use Bylaw would be considered an asset
- Previous related work experience and/or experience working within the public sector would be considered an asset
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and timelines
- Ability to handle confidential information with judgement and discretion
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
