**Position Summary**
- Reporting to the Associate Registrar, International Education, this position is responsible for overseeing the International Education (IE) Admissions team in supporting the College’s goals for international student enrollment through effective enrolment management strategies, systems innovation, best business practices and interdepartmental collaboration.**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Oversees the day-to-day operation of the International Education Admissions team. Supervises, trains, develops, plans, assigns, schedules, monitors, and evaluates the work of staff. Responds to employee questions, including complex queries, problem-solving and interpretation of policies and procedures. Serves as a backup during peak periods or during periods of staff shortage. Supports the Associate and Assistant Registrars, IE, as required including participation on committees.
- Working closely with the Associate Registrar, IE, monitors international student enrolment in accordance with budgets and the College enrolment plan.
- Supervises group projects as assigned to improve or develop business processes that ensure quality, seamless procedures tailored for International Students.
- Develops new reports and produces a variety of documents using Banner, Power BI and other reports, and creates communications related to international student enrolment.
- Prepares deadline-driven specialized reports, documentation, non-routine correspondence and international student transcripts for the relevant Provincial Ministries and Federal Departments and organizations related to international students. Prepares letters for immigration purposes in compliance with Canadian immigration requirements and departmental expectations. Confirms student enrolment/breaks for Canadian immigration purposes.
- Serves as the main departmental resource for all international education systems and ensures that all related resources are up to date.
- Supports IE enrolment services team in responding to and processing specialized, and complex admissions and enrolment such as those involving Skills Trades BC, Apprenticeships, Continuing Studies, and specialized admission types.
- Identifies areas that require changes to standard operating procedures, including technologies and practices to expedite enrolment procedures and brings them to the attention of the IE Associate/Assistant Registrars. Updates admissions and enrolment-related processes manuals as required.
- Working in conjunction with Associate/Assistant Registrars, provides input into enrolment management system documents requiring revision; actively participates on departmental and cross-functional teams related to international student enrolment.
- Reviews Banner functionality, admissions and registration procedures, international student enrolment systems and recommends improvements.
- Maintains information related to international student enrolment on the VCC International website, ISP platform, Education Planner and other systems as required.
- Monitors and reports on international student seat availability and program wait-lists for upcoming programs and communicates information to all relevant parties.
- Provides information and guidance related to enrolment requirements/processes to international students, educational agents/representatives, and internal/external partners on a wide range of services.
- Communicates refund structure to international students/agents, oversees course drops and withdrawals and liaises with Program Departments, Student Records and Student Accounts. Coordinates and monitors tuition and deposits for international applicants and current students, initiates refunds according to international student refund policy and reviews International Student Refund Appeal requests.
- Prepares admissions/enrolment correspondence, tuition and refund fee information to applicants, students’ agents, and other relevant parties.
