Inventory Coordinator

**Overview**

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Inventory Control, the Inventory Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, safeguarding, and validating MacEwen Petroleum’s inventory including retail, card locks, bulk plants, trucks, lubricants, Home Heat divisions and garage inventory.

**Responsibilities**
- Oversees the reconciliation of inventory throughout the company and multiple lines of business (including fuel, equipment, tanks, lubricants, garage).
- Safeguards the company’s inventory through the establishment and continual improvement of processes and controls, and monitoring of inventory levels.
- Ensure appropriate documentation/backup is in place to validate the accuracy of the company’s inventory.
- Ensure that costing is accurate and margins reported properly reflect FIFO.
- Analyse and research discrepancies in the inventory, reviewing and rectifying where discrepancies occur.
- Provide support for Divisional Offices on inventory and costing issues.
- Manage the purchase of fuel in ERP cost layers, updating daily and monitoring monthly.
- Work with ERP system support and liaison groups to identify and resolve system issues.
- Co-ordinate the change-over of product inventory in virtual tanks within the ERP to enable billing as per seasonal requirements.
- Manage the creation of new inventory product codes within the ERP.
- Review the system holding tables to ensure that invoices are posted to customer accounts, pursuing discrepancies with divisional offices when required.

**Requirements**:
**Education and Specialist Knowledge**:

- Relevant post secondary education with Certificate/Diploma in Business, Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years experience relevant experience.
- A professional accounting designation, or working towards one would be advantageous.

**Other Requirements**:

- High degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite of software, particularly with Excel.
- Ability to work in partnership with all stakeholders to find permanent solutions when discrepancies arise.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written and on the telephone.
- Ability to multi-task and juggle competing deadlines and multiple priorities.
