The City of Abbotsford’s Recreation & Culture division is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated professional with proven leadership and supervisory skills to join their dynamic team as a temporary part-time Recreation Supervisor (Arenas) to cover a 9 month leave.

In this role, you are responsible for planning, organizing and supervising instructional ice skating programs, public skating sessions and other arena programs. You will exercise some independence of judgment and action within the limits of established policies, procedures and guidelines. Strong leadership and supervisory skills are essential as you help empower, train, mentor and evaluate a team of recreation staff. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships will make you an asset to the team as you liaise with the community and other stakeholders.

Your excellent communication, organizational, administrative and critical thinking skills and abilities, combined with a strong commitment to customer service excellence and knowledge of the principles of skating instruction will guide your success in this position.

**To be considered for this position, you must have**:
Grade 12 plus completion of the RFABC Recreation Ice Skating Instructor Course or other equivalent training.
2 years’ experience as a recreational ice skating program instructor including supervisory experience.
Current Standard First Aid Certification
Current CPR Level C Certification
Valid BC Driver’s License

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $26.43 to $31.08 per hour. Please note shift work is required, including evenings & weekends.
