The Recruitment/Human Relations Advisor provides human resources provides recommendations, advisement, and assistance in HR related areas such as: recruitment and retention, workplace wellness, health, and safety, employee files, conducts employee orientation and training, benefits and services, and personnel research. This role also will provide back upo support for leaves and disability management and WSIB. This position supports the delivery of human resources programs, services, and initiatives.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Recruitment Lifecycle Support**
- Administer end-to-end recruitment and selection cycle in accordance with, and through the promotion of TSA and The Villages Policies & Procedures, Employment Standards Act & Human Rights, Equity, Diversity, Justice and Inclusion principles.
- Consult with the Hiring Manager to understand and action staffing requests.
- Create recruitment files and maintain accurate and thorough recruitment records, including correct completion of recruiting documents
- Create, edit, revise job descriptions to ensure accuracy and that they are current in the correct format.
- Work with THQ compensation/ job evaluation team to have new roles evaluated and graded
- Coordinate payment of job board costs to appropriate department within The Villages.
- Provide guidance to Hiring Manager on interview methods and interview questions, assist in structuring interview tools based on competencies, behaviours, and TSA values alignment.
- Conduct reference checks and discuss final selection with the Hiring Manager.
- Determine offer details in partnership with Hiring Managers - create and present offer, facilitate negotiations as needed.
- Develop partnerships with post-secondary institutes, recruitment agencies and employment networks to source talent.
- Represent The Salvation Army The Villages at career fairs, school events, industry and employment networking events.

**Orientation/Onboarding**
- Provide new hire onboarding documentation and track completion, following up as needed.
- Use Serge learning for all mandatory compliance/training required by TSA and/or funder
- Schedule and deliver new hire orientation program to promote mission connection, culture, engagement, education and employee retention.

**Job Description Support Management**
- Support management with the development or revision of job descriptions and through the territorial job evaluation process
- Develop, assess, revise, and communicate job evaluation processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency

**Benefits Administration**
- Provide benefits administration such as:

- Provide new hires with benefits package as applicable and explain the benefits to employees; sends paperwork to THQ to process new hires
- Responds to general benefits questions
- Work closely with THQ Benefits Team
- Provide support to Benefits Reselection
- Follow up on outstanding arrears payments and cancel benefits as per policy
- Informs THQ Benefits Team when employees leave to cancel benefits

**Health, Safety**
- Process WSIB claims including the timely processing of documentation to WSIB and e-claims
- Conducts any contact tracing for COVID and informs MOL as required
- Provides reporting and analysis to HR Director and ED to highlight trends
- Support Return to Work directives to ensure that employees’ return is done efficiently and effectively and that the timing and duties are in alignment with agreements

**Administration, HR Processes, File Documentation and Data Integrity**
- Assist with the creation and implementation of effective human resources practices and processes within MU
- Support HR Operations and MU with HRIS data audits to ensure HRIS data integrity; submit requests for the set-up of jobs linked to MU RESPC
- Data entry into our HRIS including new hires, updating information, pulling reports
- Assist with the maintenance of employee contact list
- Prepare and maintain reports, correspondence and other documentation that is necessary to carry out Human Relations functions
- Assist with the disciplinary process by drafting letters, may assist with fact findings and documentation, and scheduling meetings; may participate in investigations as scribe
- Research issues as required
- May participate in divisional Human Relations strategic planning

**PEAC/Performance Management**
- Supports the HR Director or Senior HR Advisor to ensure Probationary Reviews and PEAC Reviews are completed by Managers/Directors as required and track compliance
- Provides support for the merit process; ensure merit letters are completed and provided to each employee and added to employee files
- Assist the Department Managers to source for appropriate training for staff development
