**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
**Major Responsibilities**:

- Provides 1st/2nd-level technical support in trouble shooting and developing technical solutions supporting IT network and infrastructure technologies.
- Supports network services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP directories, Active Directory, VLAN’s and QoS supporting VOIP.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems and failures in networking systems and protocols.
- Monitors services through IT Help system and platform consoles to identify service degradation or interruptions, escalating as appropriate.
- Monitors network activity and performance, including network health, server and storage capacity.
- Supports the maintenance of the Local and Wide Area Network (Servers, routers, switches, wireless access points, data/voice circuits) and all peripheral system needs in a multi-site environment across the TRCA jurisdiction.
- Researches technical specifications for required technologies, identifying the best technology solutions to meet TRCA needs.
- Prepares and submits required accounting related documents to facilitate procurement.
- Performs root cause analysis on infrastructure disruptions and recommend actions to address gaps.
- Leads infrastructure technology projects, including network and data center upgrades, server operating system upgrades and patching, network service extensions and performance monitoring software deployments.

**What will you need to succeed**:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications)
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license

Experience
- 3+ years of experience with general knowledge of computer and information technology services, in addition to extensive client/server and operating system experience
- Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools
- Working technical knowledge of network hardware, demonstrated experience working in a switched and routed environment.
- Skilled at installing/configuring hubs, switches, routers, bridges, etc.
- Knowledge of networking and infrastructure platforms systems, such as CISCO; Azure Cloud, Aruba, Fortinet
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools
- Familiarity with the fundamental principles of ITIL

Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate project status for various audiences.
- Able to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks as an ongoing challenge in a frequently fluctuating workload and multiple deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member to coach staff and work with stakeholders (internally and externally) and negotiate project variance/timelines.
