Sales Supervisor
Permanent, Full Time
**About the Job**:
The Sales Supervisor will be responsible for driving sales and ordering products at the store level within their assigned category, in addition to overseeing the upkeep and standards of excellence for their assigned department. Initial responsibilities will include overseeing the Home Décor department, which includes seasonal patio and outdoor living accessories, fashion, boutique, Christmas décor, everlasting plants, and giftware. You may be cross-trained in other departments as seasonal priorities shift.
This is a permanent full-time position and includes competitive compensation, benefit coverage, and a company-matched pension.
**Your Accountabilities**:
- Provide leadership and direction to all Sales Associates within your assigned department, including holding all direct reports accountable and actively provide training, coaching, and mentorship.
- Be familiar with, and actively strive to achieve, store and category sales targets.
- Assist guests by answering inquiries, conveying product knowledge, and providing a high level of service while ensuring that each guest receives the complete solution to suit their needs.
- Oversee store level inventory within your assigned category, ensuring quality standards are met while minimizing scrap, shrink, and aged inventory.
- Submit supplemental orders that allow for inventory levels to be maintained for maximum sales while also ensuring that inventory targets are met at year-end.
- Oversee seasonal product changeovers in accordance with Store and Company directives.
- Collaborate with warehouse and receiving staff to ensure that all incoming product shipments for your assigned category have been accurately verified, priced, and are readied for display on the sales floor.
- Maintain department standards of excellence and visual merchandising standards.
- Actively seek to increase knowledge base of all product offerings within your assigned category and be familiar with other department categories across the store.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Must have completed high school and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Existing knowledge base of Home Décor Category product preferred - including seasonal patio and outdoor living accessories, fashion, boutique, Christmas décor, everlasting plants, and giftware - with an ability and commitment to learn and develop.
- Previous experience in retail sales.
- Passion for the industry and position with an enthusiastic approach to selling and guest service.
- Eagerness to learn and to be cross-trained in other departments to assist as seasonal demands require.
- Leadership and organizational abilities, including effective teamwork.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions with an attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks and situations with effective time management skills.
- You are punctual and dependable, and highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
- Knowledge of indoor and tropical plants is an asset, but not required.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift 50lbs and work in various weather conditions and environments.
