HR Coordinator

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources this role coordinates all Human Resources activity within the Ljunghall Canada’s facility. This includes but is not limited to hourly recruitment, on-boarding of new employees, payroll, benefit and pension administration, training activities for both compliance and job specific programs, all Health and Safety within the plant including participation in the JHSC.
**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
This role provides supports to the senior leadership team and collaborates with other Human Resources team members. The role will entail providing day to day administrative support to the human resources functions as needed including record keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. This position requires a high level of integrity and confidentiality, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate, up to date personnel records for all staff. Excellent record keeping, attention to details, and communication skills are key competencies of this position. The Human Resources Coordinator must be result-oriented and have the ability to effectively organize and prioritize workflow.
**HR Compliance**
- Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, terminations, leave of absences, hires, rehires, etc.) with both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
- Support the Human Resources Manager in regards to inquiries, requests and complaints related to Employment Standards, Occupational Health & Safety, Workers Compensation Board, Human Rights and others.
- Support payroll and time attendance processes
- Administer and ensure compliance of all HR policies and procedures
- Assist with administration of compensation and benefits
- Support, and assist with performance management processes
- Maintain the human resource information system (ADP) and employee database
- Support administration of orientation for new employees and process new hire paperwork including data entry into HRIS system and file management
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Comply with all Ljunghall policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements
**Training and Development**
- Arrange orientations for new employees and process new hire paperwork including data entry into HRIS system and file management
- Identify, coordinate and book training, as well as maintain training databases, and completion of training reports
- Enhance leadership training to help improve communication, conflict resolution, and employment engagement
- Provide ongoing coaching and resources to managers and employees with respect to career development, compensation, staffing initiatives, and performance management and employee relations.
- Develop and implement training initiatives on an ongoing basis
**Health and Safety**
- Support offices with Disability Management, including proper administration and communication with offices and employees
- Assist with coordinating medical and other employee benefits administration
- Assist with maintenance of Workers Compensation Board (WCB) related information, including clearance certificates, as well as employee injury/illness reporting
- Ensure compliance with all WCB Act(s) requirements and assist in return to work planning
- Ensure compliance with all safety training requirements, and support coordinating and scheduling of training courses
**Recruitment**
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of job descriptions, and career path structures within the organization
- Foster beneficial relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions
- Work with the Human Resources Manager to develop and execute recruitment and retention strategies
- Complete special projects and any other duties as assigned
**Responsibilities**
Human Resources: Maintain employee confidentiality and performance management by coaching leading, mentoring and motivating employees
Safety: Verify all Ljunghall documents are completed accurately; maintaining employee records and compliance; ensuring compliance of all employees and subcontractors with local laws and Ljunghall policy at all locations and job sites
Accountability: Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance, ensuring accuracy and documentation
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with our staff and customers, both verbal and written
Leadership: Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of staff.
Time Management: Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment
**Experience**:
College Diploma minimum,
- 3 years of HR and Health and Safety experience required
- Must have Payroll Experience
- Prefer to have experience in automotive environment.
