The Automotive Sector Council is a for impact not for profit. Our focus is to assist the automotive industry of Nova Scotia with their workforce development. From Auto Technician, Collision Technician, Service Advisor to administration. ASC is supporting both employers and employees through innovative strategic practices.

The Manager, Youth and Industry Engagement (MYIE) supports the Automotive Sector Council (ASC) in project and program management. This role is intended to help promote the automotive industry to various stakeholders across Nova Scotia. This role will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
Communication
- Create promotion/communication items for projects & initiatives from ASC Marketing Plan
- Strengthen communication and relationship with the automotive industry and ASC partners
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in all outreach events and activities
- Prepare and deliver public presentations to various audiences
- Measure the effectiveness of on ongoing communications and outreach activities, providing recommendations for process improvement

Project Management
- Project and program management: design, plan, implementation, and evaluation. This includes scope management (quality management, risk management, stakeholder management, communications management, and marketing management), schedule management (activity, budget, and resource scheduling) and cost management (procurement management and resource acquisitions and allocations).
- Financial management: responsible for budgeting, seeking appropriate approvals, procuring and reconciling expenses. Creating reports and submitting to the Executive Director for approvals. Submitting expense reports and other relevant financial reports to the Executive Director monthly.
- Marketing management: Establishes the marketing plans for each of their projects and programs. Defines the marketing calendar, audience, messages, and ensures these are communicated to the Communication Coordinator in a timely fashion so that the marketing plan can be implemented. Gathering and reporting marketing metrics and outcomes.
- Communications management: Establishes the communications plans for each of their projects and programs. Identifies communication plan for funders, Executive Director (weekly update), Operational committees, Board of Directors, and Youth Pathway Consultants (YPC) updates.
- Stakeholder relations: Establishes the stakeholder relations plans for each of their projects and programs. Engages with Automotive Sector Council employers, jobbers, students, Community Colleges, teachers, guidance counsellors, YPCs and NSWorks.

Organizational Support
- Strategically support the other projects and programs by working together with the team which supports the overall service to the sector
- Participate in and collaborate with ASC team to create messaging for overall marketing

**Qualifications and Competencies**

**Education/Certification/Experience**:
The following qualifications are desired:

- Minimum of an undergraduate degree in business management/public relations/Organisational Management or equivalent experience and training
- A minimum of one (1) year experience working in project management.
- Experience working in a complex dynamic multi-stakeholder governmental, quasi-governmental or non-governmental environment.
- Substantial knowledge and practical understanding of the Automotive Sector and working with multiple industry and community stakeholders an asset

**Skills/Abilities/Knowledge**:

- Proficient in Google Workspace Suite, facilitation, presentation and the use of various communication mediums (Meetings, training etc
- Proven high-level verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; verbal and-active listening
- Demonstrated strong initiative, motivation, conscientiousness and dedication
- Ability to work independently and in a strong team environment with a high level of productivity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure clients are well served and relationships are developed and maintained
- Ability to think strategically and able to look at the larger picture
- Ability to think analytically and critically while problem solving to identify specific needs and potential solutions

**Additional Position Requirements**:

- Travel within Nova Scotia will be required
- There is an occasional requirement to work outside of normal working hours due to the requirements of the member communities and clients
- Have a valid driver's licence
