**Job Description: Deli Clerk**

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet and assist customers with inquiries regarding deli products, their ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Provide recommendations and suggestions to customers based on their preferences and dietary needs.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.
- Prepare deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and party platters
- Slice and portion meats, cheeses, and other deli products
- Ensure all products are fresh, well-presented, and meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic deli department, including display cases, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow proper sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Receiving, organizing and stocking deliveries
- Uphold food handling and safety regulations, ensuring the health and well-being of customers and fellow employees.
- Working in a refrigerated environment and standing for extended periods. The role may require moderate lifting and the use of kitchen equipment, such as slicers and ovens.
- Assisting other areas and departments as required

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a deli or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills to handle transactions and portion accurately.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations is a plus.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour
