**What you will do**
- ** HR Compliance**: Ensure full compliance with employment laws and regulations in both the United States and Canada. Keep abreast of legal updates and implement necessary changes to policies and practices.
- **Policy Development**: Develop and revise HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and fairness across all North American operations.
- **Recruitment and Staffing**: Lead recruitment efforts to attract top talent, including job posting, screening, interviewing, and executing hiring processes. Manage onboarding and orientation programs for new employees to foster a positive introduction to the company culture.
- **Employee Relations**: Serve as a key point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, mediating disputes and facilitating resolution in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- **Performance Management**: Implement and oversee performance review processes, providing support to managers and employees in setting goals, feedback, and professional development plans.
- **Training and Development**: Identify training needs and develop initiatives for professional growth and skill development across the workforce.

**What you bring to the Role**
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Professional HR Certification required
- Minimum 3 years of human resources experience, with a strong background in managing HR operations across both Canada and the US, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and practices in both Canada and the U.S.
- Multi-site experience
- Experience within a unionized environment is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage and resolve conflicts, engage employees and build strong relationships
- Ability to analyze HR data and metrics to make informed decisions and improve HR practices
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll practices is an asset
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset
