Our Lower School (JK-Grade 8) is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual who can fulfill the dual role of ECE Assistant Teacher and part-time Administrative Assistant. This role will include caring for students in the after-school program and the occasional primary supply teacher role. This individual will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build positive relationships with adults and children, and be flexible enough to meet the needs of a busy elementary school.

**Job Overview**

**Kindergarten ECE Assistant Teacher Duties**
- Assist the Senior Kindergarten teacher in carrying out programs that promote the cognitive, social and emotional development of children in kindergarten;
- Prepare or assist with the preparation of supplies, materials and activities for lessons designed by the SK teacher;
- Supervise students inside or outside the classroom as required;
- Demonstrate effective classroom management;
- Assist the gym teacher in implementing, supervising, and preparing for the kindergarten gym program;
- Assist with classroom management for the whole class or for specific students as required;
- Lead instruction or support students one-on-one or in small groups;
- Communicate any observations/progress/issues of students to the lead teacher;
- Perform supervisory duties during indoor or recess periods;
- Complete incident forms for office staff with respect to student accidents/incidents;
- Work as a Lower School team member;
**Administrative/After-School Assistant Duties**
- Help plate and distribute lunches for the Lower School (11:40-11:55 am)
- Provide after-school care from 3:45-5:30 pm daily for JK to Grade 6 students;
- Assist with the design and implementation of engaging after-school arts and crafts and other creative indoor activities for assigned after-school students;
- Assist with planning related to lunch and aftercare programs;
- Assist with the clean-up of classrooms used for after-school programs;
- Supervise JK/SK students during recess periods;
- Communicate with parents, students and administrative staff regarding students in the aftercare program.

**Educational Background and Job-Specific Requirements**
- Educational Assistant/ECE or similar qualifications or related experience;
- Enjoys interacting with students;
- Demonstrated ability to manage primary students in a classroom and/or after-school program;
- Demonstrated ability to plan and supervise after-school programs for primary-aged students;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and administrative staff;
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills;
- Highly energetic and organized with a positive attitude;
- Able to multitask, prioritize and be flexible;
- Ability to handle confidential student information;
- Available and flexible to keep longer school hours if required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $46,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
