ECE Elevation is a non-profit organization that has been created to support, and inspire the heroes that have chosen to dedicate their life's work to the Early Childhood Education field. Our Organization is focused on highlighting and supporting the navigation of the many issues facing the field.

ECE Community Elevation Services has created an opportunity to connect Resource Consultants and ECEs trained specifically in working with children with various needs, with Child care programs needing support.

**What we are looking for**:
ECES is seeking Special needs resource consultants, Early interventionists, and RECES that have been trained or have extensive experience working with children with special needs, to work with child care programs in, Toronto and the GTA. Your role is a supportive role that will support the rising needs of the Early Childhood Education field.

Location: In-person in various child care centres in Toronto, GTA.

**KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Reporting to the Program Manager, ECE Community Elevation Services, the **Child Care Inclusion support worker** performs the following duties:

- Support child care programs by working with children with various needs
- Maintain proper documentation of client interactions, and interactions with other health/social service professionals in the community.
- Support Child care programs with areas of concern they have about their infant/child’s development.
- Work collaboratively with child care programs to create a program service plans that establishes and reviews goals for their program as a whole.
- Communicate sensitively and respectfully with clients.
- Assist in the assessing of the monitoring of the the child’s development using informal and formal screening tools.
- Provide child care programs with recommendations for encouraging goal reaching
- Encourage and support the growth of child care confidence and advocacy skills.
- Provide resources and make appropriate referrals to community health professionals for additional services specific to an individual child.
- Help child care programs plan child(ren)’s transition into other programs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities as they become available.
- Ensure service activity data is logged and up to date in organizations information system.

Additionally, as a member of the ECES, the Child care inclusion support worker:

- attends and participates in ECES staff meetings every two weeks, and acts as ambassador for ECES in the community.
- periodically shares learnings and relevant resources from the broader community with the ECES team.
- participates in internal committees as well as larger community outreach and advocacy initiatives

**Qualifications**:

- a three-year diploma/degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution in social services, education, or health care, with a focus on child development.
- knowledge of infant and child development in the context of prematurity, developmental delay, as well as in the context of genetic and medical conditions
- proven knowledge of pediatric services, resources, and programs available in Toronto, GTA for children with developmental disabilities
- exceptional verbal and written communication skills - superior organization skills and attention to detail
- proven ability to work sensitively within different cultural groups - demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, and community professionals.
- ability to work with a high degree of independence.
- experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- current Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check
- proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
- asset valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and a car for daily travel to different child care programs

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 40 per week
