**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Events Coordinator is the go-to lead on event development and execution for a number of the Town of Bridgewater’s “flagpole” major annual events, including Canada Day on the LaHave, Music on the Riverbank, and Christmas on the LaHave.

As the Events Coordinator, you’ll report to the Director of Community Attraction and Communications, working collaboratively with Town of Bridgewater volunteer committees, members of Town Council, and members of the Town of Bridgewater staff team to book acts, develop and organize event site plans, manage the event budget, make sponsorship/fundraising arrangements, and develop a promotions and marketing plan ahead of these major events. You’ll also be the “go to” staff lead on site during each event, helping to ensure things run smoothly and all those in attendance have an enjoyable experience.

**ABOUT YOU**
You are passionate about organizing and hosting events, with a flair for emcee duties, and for building relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, from musicians and performers to strategic partners, volunteers, and the business community. You’re able to react and adapt to situations as they develop and utilize the resources you have at your disposal to their full potential. You have experience working within a budget and developing event programming that appeals to a wide demographic audience.

**KEY QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

**Experience**:

- Demonstrated experience in event development/execution and marketing background expertise is considered an asset
- Previous experience with fundraising is considered an asset
- Experience in working with multiple stakeholder organizations, including a volunteer base, is considered an asset

**Skills**
- Computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and high level of comfort with use of social media platforms (in particular Facebook and Instagram)
- Experience with graphic art/advertising development is considered an asset
- Effective communication skills (both oral and written)
- Numeracy skills (budgeting, financial management)

**Terms and Conditions of Employment**:

- Non-union
- Part time (variable weekly hours dependent on demands of event prep and execution)
- Term: 8 months (April to November) with the possibility of extension
- Rate of pay: $20.00 hourly
- Location of work: Combination of Town Hall and Flexible work arrangements
- Days of work: Flexible and contingent on events, but please note that the incumbent will be required to work Canada Day and some evenings as required by event programming
- Incumbent must be willing to submit to a security check upon request
