As a Translator with Sonovision Canada, you will join an energetic team of translation professionals, passionate about the work they do. As part of the translation team, you will be an essential contributing member by translating a variety of documents from English to French, reviewing the work of co-workers and working together to deliver documentation of the highest quality that customers of Sonovision have come to expect. **Typical Duties**
- Read through material in English, ascertain understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and translate it into French, making sure to preserve the original meaning
- Refer to online translation tools for additional assistance with translation
- Use highly specialised translation software to encourage efficiency and consistency
- Adhere to industry quality standards and ensure that all completed work meets customer requirements
- Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of the translation
- Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
- Follow up with internal team members to ensure the translation meets their needs
- Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g. font and structure)
- Able to work onsite in our Ottawa or Montreal office
- Other duties as assigned

**Required Skills & Experience**
- Must possess a university degree or college diploma in translation or working towards completing one
- Experience using computer-assisted translation software is a benefit, Trados is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Aptitude and interest to learn and develop

**Assets**
- Experience in the Aerospace or Defense Industry
- Accreditation with OTTIAQ or ATIO or another similar association

À titre de traducteur technique chez Sonovision Canada Inc., vous ferez partie d'une équipe dynamique de professionnels de la documentation qui sont passionnés par leur travail. Au sein de l'équipe de traduction, vous serez un membre contributeur essentiel en traduisant une variété de documents de l'anglais au français, en examinant le travail de vos collègues et en travaillant ensemble pour fournir une documentation de la plus haute qualité à laquelle les clients de Sonovision s'attendent. **Tâches types**
- Lire les textes de départ, s'assurer de bien en comprendre le sens et le contexte, puis les traduire en français tout en préservant le sens premier.
- Consulter les experts techniques et d'autres collègues afin de bien comprendre les concepts plus complexes afin de les traduire convenablement
- Se reporter aux outils de traduction en ligne pour une assistance supplémentaire à la traduction
- Utiliser un logiciel de traduction hautement spécialisé pour favoriser l'efficacité et la cohérence
- Se conformer aux normes de qualité de l'industrie et s'assurer que tous les travaux finaux répondent aux exigences des clients
- Vérifier la concordance des dictionnaires spécialisés et des outils de traductions afin d'assurer la qualité des traductions
- Procéder à la correction d'épreuves des traductions afin d'assurer la qualité de la grammaire, de l'orthographe et de la ponctuation
- Assurer un suivi avec les différents départements afin que toutes les exigences soient respectées
- Effectuer la mise en page dans le but de maintenir le format original (par ex. police et structure)
