Primary Duties
The main purpose of this position is to provide supervision, planning, and sales support for the Utilities Kingston telecommunications business. This function requires an individual who can engage and motivate employees at all levels of the organization while also providing advanced technical guidance for operational functions. This function is experienced in telecommunications network design and implementation with a focus on fibre optics and wireless technologies. The salary range for this position is $96,234 - $128,312.

**Major Responsibilities**:
1. Direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of the business to ensure customer and employee satisfaction.
2. Determine key stakeholders, foster and develop relationships - internally and externally.
3. Ensure the network is operational and effectively manage outages to minimize customer impact and organizational reputation.
4. Provide input to the business operating and capital budgets and create purchase requisitions and authorizing payment of purchase orders and invoices.
5. Develop and maintain relations with customers at the forefront and ensure customer satisfaction in all aspects of the service delivery.
6. Develop procedures, work schedules and work plans.
7. Ensure timely responses to customer inquiries as required, including quoting new services.
8. Provide coaching and guidance to team members on day-to-day activities and provide regular performance feedback.
9. Foster engagement and a positive work environment and ensure transparency and consistency in dealing with staff.
10. Assist with plans, monitoring progress, and report statuses on major projects undertaken by the business.

- Intermediate communication skills both written and verbal
- Basic leadership skills
- Basic financial management skills
- Intermediate MS Office skills
- Intermediate telecommunications network design skills

**Knowledge**:

- Intermediate knowledge of outside plant design, construction, and operation.
- Intermediate knowledge of computer networking
- Basic knowledge of ArcGIS (ESRI)

Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required

**Experience/Education**:

- Electrical or Computer Engineering or Technologist or relevant experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in network planning, design, and construction
- Networking/Telecommunications solution development expertise
- Networking Certifications are an asset.
- Class G drivers’ licence
