**Position Overview**:
The Area Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for the management of all Loss Prevention programs and field Loss Prevention personnel within their assigned locations. These responsibilities include shortage and safety goals, auditing, LP Technology, and training of both store and Loss Prevention personnel in partnership with the direct supervisor.
- Responsible for the implementation and execution of all Loss Prevention initiatives and policies within their assigned area to protect the company’s assets and ensure the safety of all customers and employees.
- Hire and train Loss Prevention personnel within assigned locations for open field positions. Including, onboarding, sign off, ongoing review of apprehension activity, and career development for LP staff.
- Directly manage all internal and external investigations within assigned locations targeting the reduction of theft and fraud activity at store locations within the bounds of established company policies and with regard to Canadian Federal and Provincial laws.
- Develop and implement loss reduction plans in partnership with store teams, and provide ongoing follow up throughout the inventory cycle to ensure compliance.
- Manage and maintain Loss Prevention technology equipment within assigned locations. Including CCTV, Access Control, EAS, and Intrusion Detection systems. Utilize technology including exception-based reporting systems to identify dishonest activity both internally and externally.
- Train store staff and company management in Loss Prevention awareness, reducing loss, inventory accuracy, cash management, and other related topics.
- Provide direct support and training to stores for taking of financial inventory and all item cycle counts as directed.
- Regularly communicate with other LP team members, and support cross-communication between store and other departments to identify common
- Build positive relationships both inside and outside the company.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly Loss Prevention audits and other audits as assigned and provide direct feedback for stores.
- Build positive business relationships both within and outside of the company
- Regular, dependable attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years of Loss Prevention or Asset Protection experience in a multi-unit capacity.
- University or College degree/credits preferred.
- Provincial Security License as required by law, and an understanding of applicable Federal, Provincial, and local laws/regulations as it relates to Retail Loss Prevention.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and G-Suite tools (Drive, Sheets, etc.).
- Internal interviewing training or certifications such as Wicklander-Zulawski or equivalent. Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) designation preferred but not required.
- Experience in conducting, managing, and training others on retail investigations, including internal theft, external theft, ORC, and other workplace investigations.
- Experience with Loss Prevention technology and methods, including CCTV, covert surveillance, EAS, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection systems.
