As part of our Quality team, this position will be responsible for ensuring that the final product observes Pure Sunfarms’ quality standards. This is a dynamic role where you will be a key component in elevating Pure Sunfarms’ Quality Management System and completing traceability of batches of Cannabis and Cannabis products. The role provides ground-level analysis and recommendations, while ensuring quality is met at every step of the production process to ensure we deliver on our quality goals.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

**Operational Performance**
- Manage batch release on a daily basis through preparing quality documents, lab data review and label approval to fulfill order shipment
- Review and verify daily records filled by operation staff, ensuring all corrections are made in a timely and organized manner
- Develop and maintain Deviation and Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) modules to ensure compliance to site Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory requirements
- Investigate root cause and follow up with corrective and preventive actions for departmental Deviations and CAPA to prevent future quality issues on products
- Provide expertise and training to ensure production practices are in compliance with Good Production Practices (GPP), Good manufacturing Practices (GMP), Health Canada Cannabis regulations, and customer requirements and guidelines
- Assist with development and management of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), CAPA, change control, and deviation processes

**Compliance and Audit Management**
- Perform internal audits on processes and QMS and collaborate on corrective action completion with stakeholders to ensure product safety and quality
- Ensure that documentation, complaints, deviations, non-conformances, investigations, corrective and preventative actions, and change control are performed according to quality and regulatory requirements

**Collaboration**
- Create and communicate Deviations and CAPA Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to Operations’ teams and collaborate on respective corrective and preventive action plans
- Create, review, implement and train staff on controlled documents to ensure alignment of SOP and current floor practices
- Provide training and guidance to different stakeholders to ensure Pure Sunfarms Quality best practices are followed
- Support departmental and operational Deviations and CAPA investigations to ensure product safety, quality and compliance to regulatory requirements
- Hold management through collaboration and communicate with cross functional stakeholders

**OTHER DUTIES**

At Pure Sunfarms, we are all growers at heart. Our plants and processes require in-person care and attention to ensure we’re bringing the best our plants and people have to offer to our consumers. This means other duties may arise since we work together to ensure we support all business activities - seed to sale.

This role is on-site, which requires you to work in Pure Sunfarms facility at all times in an operating role or directly supporting operations. This role will require shift work. The shifts will be consistently rotating every 2 weeks - they will be from 7:00am-3:30pm, 9:00am-530pm, and 2:00pm-10:30pm for experience between Quality Assurance Specialists to be distributed.

- 3-5 years’ of QA experience in food production, pharmaceutical, and/or Cannabis
- Bachelor's degree in Science or related field of study, and or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Relevant hands-on experience in developing SOPs and drafting technical reports
- Experience in handling customer complaints, change control, deviations, internal audits and CAPA
- Robust understanding of audit procedures such as EU-GMP, Safe Quality Food (SQF) and British Retail Consortium (BRC) in a manufacturing and/or food processing field is an asset
- Knowledge of applicable federal and provincial legislation, acts and regulations for Cannabis would be an asset
- Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on details, while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
