Kids Connect Daycare is a new state of the art childcare facility located in East Toronto. We are looking for highly qualified and motivated Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to act as Supervisor to guide and support our organization.

Our mission is to provide high quality, reliable childcare for children aged 3 months to 6 years using a child-led, play-based approach to learning that supports the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, in a safe, engaging and welcoming environment.

**Supervisor** **Role and** **Responsibilities will include**:
Reporting to the Owner/Operator,

Manage team of RECE’s and ECA’s in the **daily operations of the centre.**
- Ensuring licensing requirements are met at all times
- Anticipating, responding, and maintaining responsibility of centre issues and concerns regarding staff, facilities, and children.
- Ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly checklists are complete.

**Staff Supervision**:Working with a team to establish and maintain a safe, warm, and caring environment in which a high-quality childcare program can operate.
- Overseeing **staff schedules** and ensuring adequate coverage for ratios are being maintained at all times, and coordinating with **supply staff** as required. Involved in timesheet preparation.
- **Health and Safety**:Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment by performing periodic safety checks of equipment, facilities and identifying children who are unwell. Maintaining an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.
- Leading and providing clear direction in the case of Emergencies, including directing staff and children, communicating with emergency personnel and Directors, and communicating with parents.
- **New Child Enrollment & Waitlists**:Managing the recruitment, **waitlist, and **registering new children, verifying the completeness of documents, and onboarding and welcoming children and families.
- **Communication**:Establishing and maintaining relationships with families through open communication by using daily reports, daily interactions, formal parent interviews, and parent information sessions.
- Communicating key messages on decisions made by the Management Team to centre staff on an ongoing basis.
- **Program and Curriculum Development**:Implementing a play-based emergent curriculum with a variety of engaging daily activities.
- **Events**:Participating in special events and socials for children and families
- **Engaging with and caring for children**:assisting with food preparation, sleep supervision, planning and setting up activities indoor and outdoor, and daily reports.

**Other requirements**:

- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the industry.
- Certificate in WHMIS and Health and Safety training
- Valid Food Handler Certification within 2 years of expiry (or willing to certify prior to employment)
- Demonstrated in depth knowledge of: Toronto Children's Services - AQI, CSIS, etc., CCEYA (current and new legislation) and CCLS
- Expert level knowledge and experience to facilitate and support the implementation of _How Does Learning Happen? foundations, goals and expectations_
- Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Current Canada Food Guide requirements
- Toronto Public Health guidelines, requirements and legislation
- Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resource management best practices
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint,etc)

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
