A Bread Baker / Pastry Chef is responsible for producing high-quality bread, pastries, and other baked goods for a bakery, pastry shop, or restaurant. This role involves a combination of creativity, precision, and attention to detail to ensure that each product meets the established standards of taste, texture, and appearance. The Bread Baker / Pastry Chef must possess strong baking skills, knowledge of ingredients, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Baking: Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts according to recipes and established techniques.
- Ingredient Preparation: Measure and mix ingredients, including flour, yeast, sugar, and butter, to create doughs and batters.
- Dough Handling: Knead, shape, and proof doughs for bread and pastry products, ensuring proper fermentation and rising.
- Pastry Production: Create and assemble fillings, frostings, and decorations for pastries, cakes, and other desserts.
- Oven Management: Monitor baking temperatures and times, adjusting as needed to achieve desired results and avoid over/under baking.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for consistency, texture, and appearance, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock of baking ingredients and supplies, ordering as needed to avoid shortages.
- Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of raw ingredients, cleaning of equipment, and storage of finished products.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new bread and pastry recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers, answering questions about products, making recommendations, and providing excellent service.
