**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Under the support, guidance and direction of the Manager, the key functions of the position include developing, implementing and managing the Onboarding and Orientation Program.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business, human resources, project management, or other related discipline, minimum of seven (7) years of responsible experience in talent acquisition-including a combination of strategic and operational business planning; working with corporate performance measures and budgets; business case development; experience dealing with third party vendors to collaborate on the development of an organization-wide HR program is required; experience building and implementing a program or initiative; project management for an organization-wide project (onboarding, recruiting, benefits, learning, performance management, etc) is required.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Strong consultative skills with a proven ability to influence.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
- Ability to probe beyond initial questions to extract valuable information that could transform a program from good to outstanding.
- Proven ability to effectively interact, communicate, influence, and collaborate with a variety of partners and stakeholders-including management, staff at all levels, union representatives, government ministries, and other organizations.
- Ability to build and nurture innovative, collaborative relationships and partnerships.
- Superior customer service skills with highly-developed interpersonal, collaborative and relationship building skills within a diverse environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills-including report writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem solving and conflict management/resolution skills.
- Ability to manage issues with a solution-oriented focus.
- Computer savvy, technology savvy with a creative eye.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role.
