**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Graduate of a Medical Office Administration Program or Medical Terminology Certificate and equivalent in related experience
- One year related clerical experience in a high volume, fast paced department within a health care/medical office setting
- One year experience with computer software including Microsoft Office programs
- Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum of 50 w.p.m.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care
- Excellent communication skills and ability to respect the confidentially of personnel and patient information
- Compliance with confidential requirements under the Niagara Health Privacy Policy
- Demonstrated professional attitude while interacting with the public, patients, employees and medical staff
- Ability to cope with frequent interruptions while maintaining deadlines and expected registration turnaround time and work in a multi-tasking environment
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as multitasking, keyboarding and working in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- Must be available for all shifts including midnight, afternoon and weekend shifts, vacation replacement, paid holidays and sick time with mínimal notice
- Travel between sites when required
- Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
