Surrey, Canada OCD North Full time

ERP Therapist Job Description

OCD North is a specialized mental health clinic located in Barrie, Ontario and expanding across
Canada. We serve individuals, children and families affected by obsessive-compulsive disorder
(OCD).

We are looking for a social worker in British Columbia (Surrey or Langley) to join our growing clinic as we continue to expand the care we can provide those living with OCD and their families.

**Why work with us?**

Every member of our team is integral to making our vision a reality.

We offer a supportive work environment, providing opportunities for our therapists to learn, consult and have fun with peers. We cultivate and attract therapists who are industry leaders.

OCD North offers flexible hours, a hybrid work environment, administrative support, and a community of likeminded individuals.

This role offers significant earning potential.

Why ERP Therapists?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is a chronic condition that worsens without treatment.

ERP is the gold-standard, evidence-based best treatment for OCD. Our mission as ERP therapists is to facilitate recovery using best-in-class treatment.
- Hold a Master of Social Work or related degree from an accredited Canadian university.
- Help clients recover using ERP and have some training in the protocol.
- Be a team player and share the same values as the company: creativity, community, and courage.
- Be comfortable in a fee-for-service role and willing and able to work no less than 23 sessions per month.
- Believe they can help clients achieve recovery from OCD.
- Seek to always learn, yet desire to be an expert.

Role Overview

This role is an independent contractor position. We offer competitive salaries that increase based on performance, experience, and years of service. We support our team with referral incentives.
We value flexibility with work environment and hours of work.

Responsibilities of an ERP Therapist include:

- Follow OCD North’s values and Golden Rules of Exposure with every client interaction.
- Plan and conduct exposures; resisting the temptation to reassure and “rescue” clients while modeling emotional regulation and distress tolerance.
- Demonstrating empathy, strong clinical knowledge, and the ability to respond to difficult client situations effectively.
- Provide psychoeducation to individuals and families regarding OCD and Exposure and

Response Prevention.
- Communicate with administration regarding billing, payment plans, and client coordination.
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with client systems.
- Provide treatment recommendations to client systems grounded in evidence-based practice.
- Determining eligibility for service.
- Comfort working with families, children, and adults in a clinical capacity.
- Courage to consult with peers - to give and receive advice.
- Additional duties, as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in social work
- Demonstrated experience working in a mental health setting.
- Training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
- Participate in weekly or monthly consultation meetings.
- Ability to complete thorough assessments online and in-person.
- Strong problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Professional liability insurance and registration in good standing with the provincial regulatory body.
- Experience working with children and their families.

Additional Qualifications: (Not required but desirable)
- Experience using Exposure and Response Prevention.
