
Rpn for Dermatology Office

Derma Skin Institute Skin and Wellness is looking for a dynamic RPN to join our medical Dermatology practice to complete medical tasks, minor surgical procedures, medical scribing, product sales, and related administrative tasks.
**Qualifications**:
- Practical Nursing or Nursing Certificate/Diploma/Degree
- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
**Competencies**:
- Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
- Excellent organizational skills, time-management skills, decision making skills
- Proficient at multi-tasking, triaging and prioritizing
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Phlebotomy (blood draws)
- Proficient at administering medical injections (ex. Kenalog)
- Proficient at consulting Dermatologist recommended procedures for skin health and wellness
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Strong communication skills (oral & written)
- Strong computer skills for use with electronic medical records.
- Strong typing skills for medical scribing
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Document patient-physician interaction in patient chart during patient encounter
- Use appropriate assessment skills to prepare the patient for the doctor.
- Set-up for any procedures that the doctors will be performing
- Prepare and/or administer injections for medical procedures
- Assist physician with medical examinations and procedures as required.
- Perform medical procedures as trained by the dermatologist
- Consult patients on Dermatologist recommended procedures
- Logging and securing lab specimens, swabs etc. to the designated lab pick-up area
- Triage patient calls for medical office assistants or provide advice regarding medical treatment directly to patients
- Demonstrating injection of biologic medications and patient education on biologic medications
