**As our Business Unit Cost Controller you**:
- Implement internal cost control systems, operational procedures and reporting systems to control the financial data in alignment with Plan group policies and procedures.
- Manage and lead continuous financial reporting and analysis with accurate and timely information of OH, budget, forecast, variances, progress, performance, risk, opportunity and cash flow and make recommendations.
- Manage and provide expertise on interpretation of financial statements and other financial documents.
- Perform ongoing analysis of project risks working closely with PMs, CMs to optimize contingency strategies.
- Create and implement controls to mitigate financial risk and exposure on long term projects.
- Develop and establish performance metrics presenting to VP, CMs and senior management.
- Develop and streamline processes and tools, developing analytics and dashboards for reporting and forecasting.
- Manage, lead and support cost control team members, including project accountants, discrepancy admins and billing admins.
- Support contract management, following up on approved and unapproved changes and make recommendations.
- A recognized accounting designation or degree in finance.
- A minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience leading financial accounting and reporting (Construction Industry experience an asset).
- Creative thinking skills, ability to solve problems and recommend solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices and audit processes to analyze financial data and formulate conclusions and recommendations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct complex and comprehensive financial analysis, assessment and evaluation of financial reporting activities and to identify potentially contentious issues that expose PG to risk and recommend appropriate options.
- Leadership and influencing skills to encourage senior management, colleagues, clients and vendors of the need to adhere to financial/cost control processes.
- Developed governance and accountability, quality management systems and risk mitigation strategies to use a risk assessment lens to identify and address risks, issues and accounting implications for the project baseline.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop strong, cooperative relationships with PMs, CMs, VPs.
