**Note: this position requires to be in the office.**

**Job Purpose**:Responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and management of the regulatory affair systems, as well as all procedures and policies related to product quality and specifications to ensure that the manufacturing process and all products are safe, compliant with regulatory requirements and meet internal and external specifications.

**Responsibilities including but not limited to**:

- Ensure all departments, procedures and policies are implemented and continue to meet regulatory and customer specifications
- Assist with the maintenance of certifications to process Organic, Halal, Keto, Plant-Based and Gluten-Free products
- Communicate with QA department to ensure that new products or revisions are communicated and incorporated in the relevant food safety quality management system procedures
- Assist in third party audits, CFIA Regulatory System Audits, prepare all necessary documentation and information required, follow-up with requested corrective actions
- Develop compliant ingredient and nutritional specifications for US and Canadian markets (includes communicating with USDA for packaging approvals)
- Ensure new raw materials and suppliers comply with regulatory compliance for product development
- Request and review supplier documentation for quality and suitability
- Support answering regulatory-related consumer inquiries
- Assist in completing customer-specific documentation and portal specifications
- Ensure formulations are updated, maintained, accurate and complete prior to production
- Coordinate with Sales/Marketing and QA departments to determine and meet launch deadlines, packaging material approvals and final product specifications
- Assist the export department with relevant documentation for sample exports
- Coordinate samples for analytical testing as needed and review external lab results

**Technical Requirements**
- Degree/diploma in Food Science/Nutrition or related field
- Preferred min. 1 year experience in Regulatory Affairs within the food industry
- Computer proficiency (MS Office, Nutritional software e.g. NutraCoster, Genesis)
- Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in food quality programs and GMP & HACCP training an asset
- Bilingual English and French, written and spoken would be an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
