**SWEEP TERM till September 1st, 2023, Part-Time 70 hours bi-weekly; Days.**

**Eligibility for this grant position is 18 - 29 years of age.**

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Supervises clients within the SWEEP work program including but not limited to yardwork, Marymound kitchen placements including catering, and hot dog stand
- Teach youth how to safely use tools and equipment.
- Maintain health and safety standards in work areas.
- Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds.
- Water lawns, trees, or plants, using hoses, or watering cans.
- Gather and remove Litter.
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws. Saws, hedge, or brush trimmers. Or axes
- Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers.
- Required to work long periods of time standing.
- Pushing or pulling objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Excellent physical and emotional health
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be willing to work in hot weather (Sunscreen, water, rest breaks available as required)
- Evaluates, records, and reports client progress as well as assess the personal and social development of each program participant.
- Manages behavioral dynamics as part of the individualized treatment process for the clients.
- Assumes joint responsibility in maintaining constant communication with care providers on matters relating to youth, staff and general operations.
- Roles models excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic.
- Assists in the various social enterprise endeavors with the outcome of transferring acquired skills into the community.
- Maintains health and safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience providing physical, psychological, and social support to at-risk youth or other vulnerable populations is preferred.
- Must be familiar with the developmental, educational, emotional, social, and recreational needs of children and youth.
- Working experience in yard maintenance equipment and manual labour is an asset.
- Experience working from a trauma-informed perspective is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in issue and supports related to addictions, harm reduction strategies, and/or sexual exploitation would be considered an asset.
- Valid First Aid/CPR is required.
- Mental health/crisis training certifications including NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills) would be considered an asset.
- Sound knowledge Willingness to obtain Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license, and satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and clear Vulnerable Sector checks.
- Clear Child Abuse Registry and satisfactory Prior Contact checks.
- Exceptional multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to autonomously prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, or willingness to learn, including participating in cultural practices, programming and ceremonies alongside youth is an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the job.
