**About the Role**

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for accuracy and timeliness of a variety of accounting and clerical duties. Key responsibilities include:

- Timely completion of monthly account and bank reconciliations
- Effective communication with supervisors to ensure bi-weekly payroll is accurately processed in a timely manner using a third-party service provider
- Investigate and resolve customer queries through collaboration with Internal Sales and Production colleagues
- Review and process employee expense claims
- Provide support to Accounts Payable department as required including preparation of cheques, EFTs and wires
- Assist with month-end closing including G/L account reconciliation and journal entries
- Assist the Controller with other accounting duties within W2 as needed

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Post-secondary education in accounting
- A minimum of three years of experience in an accounting function
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an asset
- Previous payroll experience an asset
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Be proactive and have a positive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels. Must be able to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve issues
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong analytical skills along with attention to detail
