**Position**: 4 Axis CNC Lathe Operator
**Shift**: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week (with possible overtime)
**Rate of Pay**: $26 - $33/hour
**Start Date**: As soon as possible
**Nature & Scope of Position**:
Under the general direction of the CNC Manager, the CNC 4-Axis Operator will primarily be responsible for programming and operation of the 4-Axis lathe, this is a diversified position working in a state-of-the-art fixture & automation environment. Responsibilities include the following:
- Compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
- Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety, and quality standards, as well as customer needs.
- Flexibility and knowledge of the operation of other 3 axis CNC milling machines is an asset.
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machine and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production.
- Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machines or equipment controls, and carry out production and inspection process.
- Good understanding of detailed prints and GD&T.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools.
- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of shift.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality and safety.
- Lubricate, clean, maintain machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications.
- Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Operate the CNC lathe to specified tolerance.
- Position and install parts, subassemblies, and accessories using had tools, power tools and other aids like overhead hoists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- A college diploma from a recognized institution, minimum high school diploma with relevant experience in the manufacturing environment.
- Preferred three (3) years’ experience running 4-Axis CNC lathe.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills in dealing effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Must be able to program and operate CNC lathes with sub spindle (DMGMORI)-Celos Knowledge an asset.
- Cimatron and Fusion 360 experience would be an asset.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
