**Job Overview**
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Primary Care Registered Nurse (RN) who will provide professional expanded scope of practice care for our predominantly indigenous population across a life span. The primary care RN must be able to utilize knowledge, skills, and judgment specific to the critical thinking and decision making for optimal patient care with the ability to analyze and assess presenting physical and mental health concerns and be able to effectively collaborate with the other primary care RN’s, physicians (physician associates), specialist and other health care providers.

**Duties**

In accordance with ISC the primary care RN will adhere to clinical practice guidelines

Perform physical exams including appropriate diagnostic procedures utilizing laboratory and x-ray equipment

Evaluate health status based on assessment information and develop appropriate treatment plans

Medication regime as per ISC guidelines in consultation with MD, PA and or

Institute therapeutic treatments including procedures such as: Suturing, partial casting, dressing changes, IV therapy and venipuncture etc.

Be an active participant with clinic health and wellness delivery programs ie: well child, well woman/man, Pre and post-natal, chronic disease management, sexual health, influenza health campaign etc.

Evaluate treatment results and revise care / treatment plans as required

Will be expected to provide advanced emergency care and share on-call coverage after clinic hours, the ability to manage emergency childbirth, stabilization of critically ill or injured clients of all ages until aeromedical evacuation is arranged, is paramount

Provide nursing care during clinic hours as per ISC guidelines with the ability to assess, diagnosis, treat, evaluate and provide appropriate teaching with consultation as needed based on assessment

**Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Active practicing registration and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- A baccalaureate degree in nursing recognized in Canada or a Nursing Diploma
- Current ACLS, PALS, BLS, ITLS, controlled drugs and substances, Immunization certification and cultural sensitivity training are mandatory, wiliness to complete prior to the end of the probationary period
- Ability to work in a team or independently
- Excellent verbal, writing, reporting and communication skills
- Satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse and Vulnerable Persons checks required

Manitoba Class V Driver’s License Requires adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE),
