Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Nursing Director, Or The Assistant Director, Nursing Education, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Continuing Education Instructor is responsible for: acting as a clinical educational resource for nursing unit personnel facilitating the learning process and evaluating learning outcome; planning, coordinating, and in conjunction with the Nursing Director, evaluating unit specific orientation programs; participating in educational activities within the specific Department, the Patient Care Portfolio, and throughout the Hospital; p>Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years recent nursing experience working in Newborn care and Postpartum care required.
  • Recent high-risk antepartum nursing experience is an asset.
  • Recent newborn care nursing experience is an asset.
  • Experience in education program planning is an asset.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Level registration is an asset.Qualifications and Skills
    • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
    • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including word processing, e-mail, PowerPoint and internet applications is required.
    • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, experience, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority.
