**Science Manager, Cochrane Canada**

The Michael G. DeGroote Cochrane Canada Centre is the Canadian arm of Cochrane - an independent global non-profit network of over 38,000 healthcare practitioners, researchers, patient advocates and others. The Cochrane Canada Centre (“The Centre”) is housed within the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) and is an approved Centre within the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University. The Centre supports Cochrane initiatives across the country by conducting education activities, functioning as the communications and knowledge brokering lead for Cochrane Canada, and advocating for the use of evidence in decision-making within Canada. Cochrane works to turn the evidence generated through research into useful information for making everyday decisions about health and informs health policies and practice guidelines. The Centre’s work and leadership overlaps with several other centres and programs in HEI. The McMaster GRADE Centre is one of 21 centres of the GRADE Working Group. The International Guideline Credentialing & Certification (INGUIDE) Program is the product of a partnership between leaders in the field of guideline development - the Guidelines International Network (GIN), a global network of guideline producing organizations and guideline participants, and world-renowned experts in guideline research, development and implementation at McMaster University’s Department of HEI. The McMaster WHO Collaborating Center for Infectious Diseases, Research Methods and Recommendations is also housed within the Department of HEI.

**New Leadership Opportunity**

The Michael G. DeGroote Cochrane Canada Centre is seeking a Science Manager who will be responsible for providing managerial and scientific support and oversight of staff in the delivery of its mandate to promote evidence-based decision making in health care by producing and supporting implementation of high-quality systematic reviews, as well as practice guidelines that are free from commercial sponsorship through the McMaster GRADE Centre. - Prepare detailed project plans and monitor the implementation of project plans to ensure delivery of products within defined timelines.
- Build, negotiate and maintain internal and external collaborative relationships, with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of projects/initiatives and other partnered activities.
- Ensure all project/initiative elements, such as peer review, communications and engagement, knowledge translation and partnerships, are developed and implemented as effectively as possible and in accordance with Cochrane Canada policies.
- Contribute to the development of reports, publications, proposals, policies, analyses, briefings, and presentations, to ensure effective development, planning and implementation of projects/initiatives and appropriate representation of Cochrane Canada, GRADE and INGUIDE.
- Research, prepare and review presentations, correspondence, fact sheets and other documents as required.
- Oversee, organize and follow through on all aspects of specific events, meetings and projects (e.g. agenda setting, consultations, promotion, logistics) to maximize their success.
