H2nanO is creating the next generation of water and emissions treatment technology. We are a growing environmental technology innovator, building solutions for hard-to-treat water contaminants, GHG emissions, and odours to support sustainable industry. Using advanced materials and new process designs, H2nanO aims to improve the cost and efficacy of water treatment and emissions reduction in mining, energy, agriculture, and other industries, including solutions such as treating water in Canada’s oil sands.

**About The Job**:
**Location**: Edmonton, AB

**Type**: Contract (6 months); potential to extend to permanent.

H2nanO is expanding our operations team to enable the growth in deployment of our SolarPass treatment platform. We are seeking ambitious technical operations talent to contribute to the development and operation of these exciting new pilot field projects.

This is a contract position to assist with projects taking place during our busy summer test season, with the potential for additional contract or full-time work following completion of the projects.

You will work with a talented team of engineers, scientists, and technicians at H2nanO and our partners to implement our treatment system demonstrations and execute on-site field operations. This is a chance to make your mark on the future of water treatment and clean energy

**Process Operator Roles**:

- Contribute to the planning, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of H2nanO’s industrial wastewater solar treatment systems.
- Complete day-to-day on-site activities for system set-up and treatment processes. Monitor process equipment and conduct repairs as required.
- Prepare and maintain data reports, sample chain of custody, and contribute to reports to clients. Assist with sample and data collection activities.
- Liaise with external parties, such as suppliers and subcontractors, regarding equipment, testing, and other site activities.
- Assist with creation of standard operating procedures and safe work protocols. Participate in project safety hazard assessments and reviews.
- Conduct process optimization and data generating tests. Assist in the development of improved and new treatment strategies.
- Contribute to process designs, system specifications, and engineering equipment sizing. Assist with procurement and maintenance of equipment.

**Preferred Experience**:
College Diploma or Certificate in Applied Science, Chemical Engineering & Technology, Petroleum Engineering & Technology, Water and Environmental Systems or equivalents.

Practical experience working in water or wastewater treatment operations, oil sands surface mining, other upstream oil and gas operations, or similar mining and heavy industry
- Technical expertise and hands-on experience with chemical systems, process pumping and fluids handling equipment, and/or environmental project operations.
- Capability and confidence in completing hands-on work in fabrication and industrial system operation, including operation of process machinery and controls.
- Proven ability to manage relationships, project scope, and execution in a dynamic industry setting.
- Understanding of safe work procedures and programs in industrial settings.
- Knowledge of industrial engineering design, project structure, and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and proficient in the preparation of project documentation and reports.

- Experience in water treatment, environmental, and/or cleantech sectors, including water treatment and environmental field work.
- Ambitious disposition; experience in new technologies and projects and working in dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure environments.
