**GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE**: Reporting to the Facility Operator, the Maintenance Manager is to perform the duties necessary to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the facilities in a safe and efficient manner or as directed. The Employee must have cross - functional skills to support and provide advice/assistance to others. Ability to prioritize and schedule work that needs to be done according to work logs. Uses sound judgment to redirect or answer queries with the ability to communicate effectively with other team players to meet the multiple demands.

The Maintenance Manager may be called away to support the janitorial team. The Employee may be required on an ongoing basis to attend applicable training, workshops, seminars and courses at the discretion of the Employer in order to facilitate job knowledge and performance. The Employee may, particularly during slower times, be expected to help out in other departments and facilities throughout City Centre Park. The Employee is expected to be a team player and help out where needed.

**TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Daily inspections of all facilities to catch areas needing attention.
- Cross-functional skills to support and provide advice/assistance to others.
- Supervise small team of Maintenance staff. Responsibilities would include coaching, discipline, hiring (supported), scheduling, and performance reviews.Oversee/create procedures for staff.
- Oversee completion of documentation of routine maintenance (i.e. ensure that daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance reports are completed for each department).
- Communication and ongoing support for Maintenance staff.
- Track all maintenance requirements.
- Administer weekly maintenance meetings.
- Oversee inventories, ordering, and rotation of stock.
- Carefully consider costs and environmental impact of cleaning programs.Ensure safe use of chemicals and equipment.
- Annual safety training and Employment Standards training as required for custodial, maintenance, Ice, and mechanic teams.
- Maintain a high level of sanitation in all facilities.
- Ensure that equipment is cared for in such a way as to maximize useful life.
- Ensure that garbage collection frequencies are adequate.
- Liaise with management on scheduling and equipment requirements.
- Working with Events Coordinator on special functions.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Level 1 first aid
- Criminal record check
- Management experience is required. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in mechanics, custodial, or ice maintenance.
- Mechanically InclinedAbility to lift a minimum of 40 lbsBack ground in carpentry & contraction is an asset
- Ability to solve problems & compromise

**WORKING CONDITIONS**: Work is performed throughout all facilities at City Centre Park. Some office work will be required. Hours may vary; days, evenings and weekends. Physical labour including cleaning and heavy lifting may be required. Job hazards may include slips, and cuts, but injuries are seldom serious.
