**Acciona Facilities Services is recruiting for Area Supervisor - Facilities**:
**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, performs a variety of duties to ensure the successful operation of Acciona Services in Victoria and areas. This position provides supervision and observations of staff to ascertain compliance with protocols, procedures and relevant laws and regulation. This is a hands-on position.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensures compliance of AFS policies and procedures by meeting and communicating regularly with staff to ensure their awareness.
- Supervision of contracted cleaning staff including verification of hours, training, and support.
- Conducts day-to-day janitorial business in a professional manner, respecting opinions of staff, listening to concerns, responding accordingly, and treating staff with respect and courtesy.
- Leads project work with the strong ability to forecast labour hours and chemical/equipment costs. Furthermore, will define, organize, plan, and implement to successful conclusion project work and cycle cleaning.
- Acts as liaison between employees and any outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems.
- Maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as needed. Deliver supplies to various contracts.
- Performing minor site maintenance: device installations, common area repairs, supervision of contractors
- Identify and report major maintenance repairs.
- Trains and on boards staff as required.
- Performs other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Strong experience and knowledge of tools.
- Experience at a maintenance level in plumbing, electrical, renovations and building repairs (including painting).
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details.
- Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and supplies.
- Ability to physically perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to maintain good working relationship with peers, supervisors, and clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work in a collaborative way with others
- Proven experience in cleaning/janitorial, caretaker or maintenance duties, staff supervision.
- Post-secondary training, cleaning certification, BOMI certifications, floor care certification or equivalents considered an asset.
- Must possess a valid class 5 BC Driver’s licence and provide/maintain a clean driver’s abstract

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must be able to stretch, bend and reach for prolonged periods to perform cleaning tasks.
- Must be able to lift and operate cleaning materials, supplies and equipment, such as brooms, mops, auto-scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions to clean floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, countertops, sinks, toilets, and all other equipment
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift fifty pounds
