The Content Services Assistant position at the Richmond Hill Public library has responsibility to perform activities in support of development, organization, and maintenance of materials within the Collection(s).

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Receives and verifies materials arriving from suppliers. Processes library materials and sorts materials for appropriate distribution.
- Enters bibliographic data into appropriate system(s) including adding, amending and deleting information. Deletes data for withdrawn, cancelled, or removed materials.
- Enters orders as directed into library systems.
- Sorts and routes donated and damaged materials for library technician review.
- Ensures the appropriate disposal of materials including organizing and replenishing sale materials, packing up materials for recycling or disposal.
- Supports interlibrary loan requests, setting up information in library system and processing items when received.
- Prepares materials for pick-up by courier. Receives deliveries. Receives and prepares mail for distribution.
- Actively works in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Library
- Responsible to adhere to established policies and procedures (occupational health and safety, employment, communications, etc.)
- Performs other duties as necessary
