**General Information**:
Reporting to the Senior Plant Manager, the Technical Advisor will be responsible for creating job routers, providing the necessary technical information to repair each unit, support all job reviews and ordering job specific materials for the Stoney Creek Transformer repair team. The Technical Specialist is also responsible to support cost reduction and process improvement initiatives as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create a conduit between the shop and engineering, covering day to day activities
- Prepare work scopes based on customer POs for all jobs as required
- Assist in developing Quality plans & Job binders for windings & transformer repair
- Lead Gate 2 job reviews with hourly EEs to establish UTA work scope & work as required
- Lead Gate 4 job reviews with hourly EEs (i.e., winding manufacturing books & drawings)
- Lead Gate 5 job reviews with hourly EEs / support staff to improve the Gate 5 re-assembly
- Develop / implement process and equipment upgrade to maintain state-of-the-art capabilities
- Ensure that the jobs are delivered on time to the Customer Delivery Schedule
- Embrace, utilize and promote the Lean Six-Sigma - ITM process
- Develop detailed material / parts list for all transformer repair projects
- Assist in improving productivity, streamlining processes, and training
- Work closely with purchasing for material parts planning
- Request, assist and issue ENs to the shop as needed
- Attend Pre-Quote review meetings as required
- As per Hitachi Energy Training Requirements

**Qualifications**:

- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technologist
- Preferably 5+ years of related Transformer Repair experience
- Preferably 5+ years of Program Management experience
- Advanced technical degree
- Service shop experience
- ISO 9000 experience
- Proficient with computer and software-MS Office, AutoCAD & Microsoft Project
- Demonstrated self-starter with effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
