We are looking for a motivated **Coordinator - Headstart LINC **to join our team

**DEPARTMENT**:
Employment, Language, and Social Enterprise

**POSITION FUNCTION**:

- Be a driving force for MOSAIC’S vision, mission, values, strategic plan, and integrated client service delivery approach, program proposals and contracts, and through your role, assist in achieving the goals and contractual outcomes of the department and those of the organization.
- Direct and coordinate Headstart LINC programming to maintain high standards, working on continuous quality improvement to meet funder and agency objectives.
- Develop Headstart curriculum plan using the principles of adult learning and incorporating settlement and employment components.
- Oversee team of curriculum developers that implement overall program plan.
- Supervise a team of 2 instructors, 1 settlement instructor, and 1 employment counsellor
- Maintain working knowledge of language programming for adults and online learning
- Coordinate employee development and performance and provide opportunities for growth.
- Provide analytical data and recommendations to the Senior Manager and the Director to track the performance of Headstart programs and make improvements.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in:

- Working with newcomers, sensitivity and understanding of immigrant needs and diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledgeable of existing programs, services and community resources
- Experience marketing and recruiting for programs.
- Recognized undergraduate degree and a TESL Canada recognized TESL certificate or a clearly documented equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching adult ESL, particularly using student-centered, participatory methods. Community-based, settlement and Literacy ESL experience an asset.
- Highly organized, tactful, versatile, and flexible with excellent communication skills; sensitive to and understanding of the needs of adult immigrant learners; attitudes and values in keeping with the goals and philosophies of MOSAIC.
- Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.

**HOURS**:

- Evenings (20 hours per week)
- This is a fixed position starting September 11th, 2023 and continuing to March 31st 2025.

- A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week_.
