Evergreen College West Campus is seeking a part-time in-class Developmental Service Worker (DSW) Instructor to join our dynamic team at our campus in Mississauga, Ontario.

**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field.
- Instruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials.
- Teach students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, and independent or group projects.
- Administer and mark quizzes assignments, exams, and/or other assessments to monitor and evaluate students’ progress according to guidelines and procedures.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptly.
- Provide feedback on student performance.
- Arrange feedback from students on the instructor, content, and facility at the end of each course.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multicultural environment.
- Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude. - Maintain attendance records accurately.
- Assure that classrooms are left in a clean and orderly fashion at the end of class without loss of or damage to equipment or other resources.
- Provide support to the admissions team with potential students who have questions about the program or future career.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation.
- Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information.
- Display an attitude of teamwork and problem-solving.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Follow COVID-19 protocol as outlined by Ontario Health.

Skills Required
- Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database systems) is essential.
- Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication to present information in a way students will understand
- Ability to demonstrate required outcomes in a variety of different learning styles
- Professional business attire and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral, written, verbal, and listening communication skills are critical
- Ability to maintain engagement by presenting information to students utilizing different learning styles, and teaching techniques
- Classroom management and experience are required
- Be a positive influence as a mentor and role mode

**Qualifications**:

- Must have a diploma or degree in the related discipline.
- Must present with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience
- Adult teaching or facilitator experience is required.
- Must be able to work in Canada and have required documentation

Job Type Fixed-term contract Salary: $22.00-$27.00 per hour

Start date: Mid-June, 2024

Schedule: - Morning shift Tues - Friday

Contract length: 6 months Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

**Experience**:

- Working with persons with developmental disabilities: 2 years (required)
