Volunteer Tax Preparer

**Purpose of Volunteer Position**:
Assist Lloydminster office by providing the community with support and assistance in the completion of their tax returns.
**Responsibilities/Tasks**:
- Participate in Agency Volunteer Tax Program
- Use online CRA approved software to submit completed tax returns
- Successful completion of Canada Revenue Agency Tax Return Training (MANDATORY)
- Represent the Agency in a professional and ethical manner
- Assist with the analysis of tax related forms and other supporting documentation
- Use the Agency volunteer platform for registration and to report volunteer hours in a timely manner.
- Record and report, on a monthly basis, your match activities, progress, and hours worked, to the Volunteer Coordinator by the 5th of each month at the latest
- Report immediately any match concerns, problems, and/or needs to the Volunteer Coordinator
- Adhere to the Agency’s Code of Volunteer Conduct
- Comply with Agency and Program policy, practices and expectations related to the volunteer placement.
**Desired Skills/Abilities**:
- Previous accounting and Tax Return preparation skills and experience an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to follow CRA tax return
- Proficient in Canada Revenue Agency software
- Reliable and highly trustworthy
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Willingness to do routine or repetitive tasks
- Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality
- Computer skills an asset
