_High School Student Residence Advisor_

Job Description: We are looking for a responsible individual to oversee international students at our **_STUDENT RESIDENCE._**

The Residence Advisor is responsible for the safety and security of the students and all building property in and around the residence area.

**This position has alternating shifts, part-time hours (10-20 hours per week), weekday nights (11pm
- 8 am) and weekend shifts.**

Duties Include:

- Observe and oversee all incoming and outgoing students/persons into the residence building.
- Update logbook daily to handover any pertinent information to the next shift advisor.
- Ability to refuse students of the opposite gender from entering the residence unless during specified hours.
- Perform residence hall and room checks.
- Monitor cameras.
- Check and report any building damage.
- Make sure students attend class.
- Prepare all necessary paperwork.
- Maintain presence at reception area to be available to answer questions and provide assistance.
- Adjust heating and air conditioning.
- Issue warnings where warranted.
- Training provided.
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

- Flexibility, willing to work evening/weekend shifts.
- Good communication skills, working with international students.
- Responsible, reliable, and able to work with minors.
- Self-starter with the ability to exercise independent judgment, take initiative and be creative.
- Hospitality service experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to be assertive in a clam and courteous manner.
- Willingness to engage with International students with language barriers in a friendly, patient and helpful manner.
- Excellent time management, organization, goal setting, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Able to work independently and follow instructions.
- Must be dependable and flexible to alternate shifts and take additional shifts if needed.
- Precise note taking and ability to communicate with other staff and superiors.
- Will be working with international students.
